Richland County’s Emergency Management department prioritizes community safety. We prepare and respond swiftly to crises, working closely with local partners, first responders, and volunteers. Our mission is to ensure the well-being of residents by providing critical resources and support during emergencies, fostering a stronger, more resilient community.

Duties
- Save lives and protect property.
- Effectively prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from all types of disaster and emergencies caused by natural, man-made and technical hazards.
- Comply with state requirements established by laws and follow federal elegibility requirements and policies, regulations and procedures.
